“面积大了”
自2015年12月20日起,"中华人民共和国澳门特别行政区行政区域图"施行。为支持澳门经济社会发展,中央人民政府决定将澳门特别行政区海域面积明确为85平方公里。
同时,将澳门特别行政区与广东省珠海市边界之间的关闸澳门边检大楼段,划归澳门特别行政区管辖.行政区域调整后,澳门特别行政区的行政区域界线包括陆地和海上两部分。
On Dec. 20, China released a map of administrative divisions demarcating the maritime and land zones of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).
The new map goes into effect on the same day, while the old one, which was issued in 1999, will be abolished.
According to the new map, an 85-square-kilometer sea area to the east and south of Macao shall be administered by Macao SAR.
A stretch of land for a border inspection building between Macao SAR and Zhuhai City in Guangdong Province has also been demarcated under the administration of Macao SAR.
“钱多了”
澳门特区政府经济局的统计显示,澳门经济生产总值从1999年的约60亿美元,增至2014年的500多亿美元;人均GDP由1999年的1.5万美元增至2014年的8.9万美元。据世界银行经济体排名位列亚洲第二，世界第四。
Official stats suggest Macao's GDP has grown from 6 billion US dollars in 1999 to over 50 billion dollars last year.
Meanwhile,its per capita GDP has grown from 15,000 US dollars in 1999 to 89,000 dollars in 2014, which is a nearly 6-time growth in 16 years.
“赌场转型了”
素有"东方拉斯维加斯"的澳门博彩业在2015年经历了利润锐减,11月数据显示,澳门博彩业收入连续第18个月下滑,且比去年同期下降32.3%.为了维持利润,博彩业投资者开始转型,通过开综合业态的娱乐度假村,来吸引游客。
“赌王”何鸿燊之女、美高梅中国联席主席何超琼7月中公开直指，澳门作为全球性的博彩中心，有需要减少对博彩业的依赖，另谋出路。
据报道,香港资本的赌场运营巨头银河娱乐集团为吸引日趋壮大的中国内地中产阶层,积极突出度假村功能。
Amid the central government's ongoing anti-corruption campaign, Macao's gaming revenue has declined for the 18th straight month in November.
Data suggests casinos collected 2.1 billion dollars from gamblers last month, 32.3% less than a year ago during the same period.
In response, many renowned international hotels and integrated resorts have set up their branches in Macao in recent years. Casino investors are hoping the new wave of expansion will drive growth in casino revenues and earnings.
走上了"一带一路"
澳门特区行政长官崔世安11月17日在作2016年度施政报告时指出,特区政府将把握国家"十三五"规划,"一带一路"建设的机遇。
这是"丝绸之路经济带"和"21世纪海上丝绸之路"的战略构想于2013年提出后,首次写入澳门特区行政长官的年度施政报告.而在2016年特区政府各范畴的施政方针中,"一带一路"也成为重要的关键词。
This year, Macao has been formally brought into China's Belt and Road Initiatives. In November,the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road have for the first time appeared in the Macao SAR Chief Executive's policy address.

One can't miss egg tarts when talking about Macanese snacks. Bakeries selling Portuguese egg tarts are everywhere in Macao.
One of the best known ones is Lord Stow's Bakery. Located on the southern tip of Macao on Coloane Island, the bakery offers desserts that became an overnight success. The founder of the shop initially sold an average of 200 egg tarts a day, but that number has now jumped to about 10,000.

"The Historic Centre of Macao" incorporated a total of 25 historic monuments and sites, such as the A-Ma Temple, the Ruins of St. Paul Church and many old buildings and squares.
